Abstract
778,956. Inductors and transformers. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. March 28, 1955 [April 29, 1954], No. 12479/54. Class 38 (2). An electrical transformer or inductor having a core or former 1 of mechanically intractable materialfor example a ferromagnetic non-metallic substance-wherein at least one recess or slot 2 is formed in the core 1 has at least one winding 6 wound on to the core or former and retained in' position thereon by means of L-shaped locating pieces 4, 5 positioned in the recess or recesses. With a winding of strip material as shown the strip is secured around the L-shaped pieces 4, 5 between the sides of the slot 2 and the pieces 4, 5; with a winding of round wire, however, a hole and/or recess is made in the pieces 4, 5 to accommodate the wire. The ends 6a, 6b carry the winding terminals.
