Abstract
1,236,687. Transformers. MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO. Ltd. 8 April, 1969 [18 April, 1968], No. 18015/69. Heading HIT. In a double-tuned intermediate-frequency transformer, two single-tuned inductors having cap-type cores 12 with centre members 11 are disposed adjacent each other and covered with one shielding case 17. The degree of magnetic coupling between the coils 3, 3 depends on the relative lengths of the sleeve (12<SP>1</SP>) and centre 11 portions of the cores 12 (Fig. 3, not shown). Each inductor has a core supporter 5 (e.g. of thermoplastic resin) with prongs 9 which are heated and deformed into holes (13, Fig. 2, not shown) in the core 12 and a shank 6 which is self-threading is secured into a threaded hole 2 in the terminal base member of the inductor. A window 20 and a slot 14 in the core enable the degree of magnetic coupling (and hence the pass band width of the device) to be adjusted. Capacitors 18 are connected across the coils, and terminals 15 and slots (16, Fig. 2, not shown) for lead wires are provided on the terminal base member.
