A transformer having a toroidal iron core 6 has incomplete printed windings 2 on a U- shaped board 1, which are completed by plugging board 1 into another board 3 carrying printed connections. A tapping (B2), (Fig. 2b, not shown), is provided on board 3. In case a further secondary winding is required an extra conductive track may be provided.
