Abstract
1,099,837. Transformers. H. J. BUSCHMAN. Aug. 9, 1965 [Aug. 10, 1964], No. 34049/65. Heading H1T. A transformer assembled from a range of standardized parts comprises one or more annular primary windings W 1 and one or more annular secondary windings W 2 , each winding being separately wound and encapsulated in resilient material except for a plurality of terminals, e.g. 1-4, connected to 6% and 12% taps. The windings used are selected from a range of sizes in which the wire size to be chosen for each winding and the terminals to be used for a given wattage and voltage are preselected from Table 1 (see Specification). The windings are removably carried on a tapered centre leg of an E-shaped core member 2<SP>1</SP>, in side-by-side and/or overlapping relationship, and held by a resilient washer 11, core members 3<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>11</SP>, and a resilient clamp 6. A single straight core member (3<SP>111</SP>, Fig. 3) may interlock with the core member 2<SP>1</SP>. The core may comprise two E parts, or E and I, F, U or L parts, or wound cores. A dual secondary winding with two taps each, connected both in series, both in parallel, or both in series with a centre tap, may be provided.
