Abstract
918,281. Transformers. SMIT & CO'S TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V., WILLEM. Nov. 17, 1959 [Nov. 21, 1958], No. 39013/59. Class 38 (2). A transformer winding comprises disc coils A, B (Fig. 6) each consisting of two sets of turns, e.g. 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9, 11, 13, 15, so arranged that in one set the operating current flows from the innermost to the outermost turn and, in the other set, from the outermost to the innermost turn. The double coils A and B are wound so that each has turns or pairs of turns protruding and interposed between turns of the other (see Fig. 4). Other arrangements are described including one in which the coil turns are connected in two parallel circuits a, b (Fig. 11, not shown). One of the conductors b (Fig. 13) may be formed of a multiple conductor or cable, the axially protruding turns or part turns being formed only by the other single conductor a. Specification 587,997, Swiss Specification 329,523 and German Patent Application 536350 VIII/21d<SP>2</SP> (as open) are referred to.
