Abstract
900,524. Electric transformers &c. SMIT & CO.'S TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V., WILLEM. Oct. 3, 1960 [Oct. 2, 1959], No. 33913/60. Class 38 (2). One coil B of a pair of coils of a transformer winding comprises a single long conductor b while the other coil A comprises a similar long conductor c wound for some of the turns with a shorter conductor a, the conconductors being series connected in the order a, b, c. The shorter conductor has substantially the same crosssection over the insulation but a smaller copper cross-section than that of the long conductors. Each pair of successive coil pairs lie in mirror symmetry across the plane of symmetry of the two coil pairs. The coils may consist of cylindrical layers of turns, the second long conductor being wound with the shorter conductor in the two outer layers of one coil of a pair, Fig. 6 (not shown). Various ways of connecting the conductors are described, Figs. 5, 7, 8 (not shown).
