Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the transformer which is compact and light weight and wherein taps can be readily taken out, by sequentially winding a first low voltage winding, a high voltage winding, a second low voltage winding around a main leg of a single phase three legged core from the inside, and winding a tap winding which is connected to the high voltage winding in series and an exciting winding which is connected to the second low voltage winding in parallel around one side leg. CONSTITUTION:The low voltage winding 2A, the high voltage winding 3, and the second low voltage winding 2B are sequentially wound around one main leg 1 of the single phase core from the core side. The exciting winding 5 and the high voltage winding 6 are wound around one side leg 11 from the core side. The winding 5 is connected to the winding 2B in parallel, and the winding 6 is connected to a neutral point terminal of the winding 3. In this constitution, the impedance between the first low voltage winding and the high voltage winding is made equal to the impedance between the second low voltage winding which is located outside and the high voltage winding, without enlarging the size of the main gap between the first low voltage winding and the high voltage winding larger than the required size. Since the tap winding is provided on the side leg, the taps can be readily taken out.
