Abstract
957,937. Transformers and inductors. WILLEM SMIT & CO.'S TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V. Feb. 6, 1963 [Feb. 6, 1962], No. 4903/63. Heading H1T. A winding for a transformer or inductor is formed of a composite conductor made up of a number of equal layers of parallel connected conductors 1-8 (Fig. 4) the positions of which in the composite conductor are changed cyclically, the winding having two end portions I and III in each of which only a part of the complete cycle of transposition of the conductors is effected, the lengths of arc between successive crossing points and the order of transposition of the conductors being the same in both end portions and the intermediate portion II having the arc length between successive crossing points an integral multiple of the arc length between successive crossing points in the end portions I and II. The intermediate portion II of the winding may consist of three portions IIa, IIb, IIc (Fig. 6, not shown), of which the end portions IIa, IIc are the same in all respects.
