Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a compact single-phase 2-core type saturable reactor whose saturation characteristics are excellent by arranging one leg of an iron core adjacent to one leg of another iron core with non-magnetic-metal plate having excellent conductive property being intervened between the two. CONSTITUTION:Two iron cores 1 and 2 are arranged in a lateral line, and a non- magnetic plate 6 of copper and the like, which is held between insulators 5, are intervened. AC windings 3 are wound around the core legs on the outside, and a DC winding 4 is commonly wound around the two legs on the inner side of both cores. One end of the copper plate 6 is grounded by a grounding wire 7. In this constitution, the copper plate 6 prevents the intrusion of magnetic fluxes into the neighboring core when one core is magnetically saturated, and leakage impedance can be made small. If the copper plate 6 is bent into a U-shape, the effectiveness if further enhanced.
