Abstract

1,015,545. Transformers and inductors. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 14, 1964 [May 17, 1963], No. 20132/64. Heading H1T. A transformer or inductor core which is made of ceramic ferromagnetic material comprises a substantially H-shaped part 1 (Fig. 1) having a centre limb for accommodating a coil and two outer limbs, and a substantially U-shaped part 3 which is arranged to cover and to engage with faces of the outer limbs of the H-shaped part so as to complete the magnetic circuit of the core. The engaging faces of the core parts may be ground smooth and the H-shaped part may be provided with a coil former of insulating material 7 (Fig. 3) having flanges 9 and insulating portions 11. Soldering tags 13 to which the ends of the coil 5 are attached may be embedded at their ends 15 in these insulating portions 11. U-shaped parts may be provided on each side of the H-shaped part and the bottom of the U- shaped part may be considerably thinner than its limbs.
