Abstract

1,080,320. Transformers. SIEMENS SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Aug. 23, 1965 [Sept. 19, 1964], No. 36170/65. Heading H1T. A transformer has two primary windings 2, 20 wound on limbs 1 of a laminated iron core, and its secondary winding is formed by single turns 3, 30, one on each core limb, and connected in parallel. Each secondary turn comprises a sleeve-like portion gapped along its length, e.g. at 37, terminals 4, 5 being provided on opposite sides of one of these gaps. The parallel connections for the secondary turns is provided by walls 40, (41, Fig. 2) and walls such as 6, one at each end of the turns. The ends of the turns are closed by thinner metal walls (50, 51, Fig. 2, not shown). The transformer is mounted on legs 39 so cooling air can flow up between the walls 3<SP>1</SP>, 30<SP>1</SP>. The core may be spaced from the housing by insulating members. The spaces within the housing and the gap 37 may be filled with solid or liquid insulating material, e.g. resin.
