Abstract

1,009,720. Inductors and transformers. SANGAMO WESTON Ltd. July 13, 1964 [July 23, 1963], No. 28794/64. Heading H1T. A toroidal inductor or transformer has the core 10 (Fig. 5) and windings 14 enclosed by stretched ends 16a, 16b of a thin flexible tube which is placed in the opening of the toroidal assembly with its ends 16a, 16b projecting the ends then stretched backwards over the toroidal assembly. The unit so formed is then encapsulated in epoxy or other material inside an enclosure formed by a cylindrical wall and a terminal carrying end plate (Fig. 8, not shown). The core may be of pressed powder. The winding may be tapped. A central tubular brass stem may be provided.
