Abstract

917,299. Transformers. INDUCTOSYN Ltd. Aug. 10, 1960 [Aug. 25, 1959], No. 27735/60. Class 38 (2). A tapped transformer designed to provide fractional turns comprises a winding or windings enclosed in a pot cure 57 (Fig. 1) having circumferentially spaced apertures 59 through which loops of a winding are brought out to form tappings. The apertures may be disposed in a magnetic end-plate 77 (Fig. 9). The core may be of powdered iron or ferrite. The device may be enclosed in a container 68 (Fig. 3) and potted, the terminals and taps being soldered to pins 20 and the windings being insulated from the core by washers 72, 73. The secondary may be wound over the primary and insulated therefrom by Teflon tape. Transformers constructed in accordance with the invention may be used for the automatic machine control arrangement described in Specification 807,219.
