Abstract

1,089,954. Inductors; transformers. CAMBRIDGE THERMIONIC CORPORATION. June 24, 1965, No. 26787/65. Heading H1T. An inductor or transformer, Fig. 1, comprises a semi-toroidal magnetic core member 22 with a single, or bifilar, winding or two separate windings 20 and a core member 30 bridging the ends of the member 22 but separated therefrom by adjustment gaps 32, 33. The core members are adhered to a ceramic wafer 12 used for micro-modular assemblies by a settable epoxy adhesive 24, the gaps 32, 33 being adjusted before the adhesive sets to give the winding(s) a predetermined inductance. The invention may also comprise devices whose bridging core member is semi-circular (Fig. 2). In a further form, (Fig. 4) the device comprises two semi-toroidal core members, each carrying a single or bifilar winding, joined at their ends by a straight bridging core member which may carry a single or bifilar winding.
