Abstract

956,638. Transformers. MARCONI CO. Ltd. May 25, 1962 [May 26, 1961], No. 20189/62. Heading H1T. audio frequency transformer has its primary and secondary windings wound together in the form of a trifilar or multifilar winding in order to arrange the natural frequency so that feedback of harmonics to earlier stages in a radio receiver is minimised. Trifilar wound coils may be connected to form one primary and a centre tapped secondary (Fig. 2a) or a centre tapped primary and a single secondary. Quadrifilar wound coils may be connected to give centre tapped primary and secondary windings or three of the coils may be connected together to form either the primary or secondary winding (Fig. 2c, not shown). The circuit of a transistorised radio receiver employing two trifilar wound transformers is given.
