Abstract

1328160 Transformers and inductors W ZUMTOBEL 7 Dec 1970 [9 Dec 1969] 57918/70 Heading H1T A transformer or choke comprises a laminated core portion 1 carrying at least one winding 2 and a laminated yoke portion 3 comprising two U-shaped yoke members 3 which at least partially surround the winding, the length L of the core portion between extreme ends of the winding or windings being substantially equal to the width B of the core portion in the region or regions in which the core portion is wound and the U-shaped yoke members each having an inside surface on an arm thereof which abuts an end surface of the core portion. A large number of different arrangements similar to that shown in Fig. 1 are described together with details of how the laminations may be stamped from a sheet of material with very little wastage. Fig. 16 shows an embodiment in which the transformer or choke has two windings. Specification 1,312,495 is referred to.
