Abstract

The laminated iron core has a subdivided shell of wound strip forming a unit with the core, or one of its parts. The shell (12, 12') has several dividing locations (17), in whose regions the central core(s) (11) firmly engages the shell. Preferably one dividing surface (17') of the shell and a combining surface (17") of the central core are located adjacent each other and form a common abutment. The laminations (16) of the shell part and the lamination (14) of the respective central core are adjacent each other and intersect like a grid. the two types of laminations may abut and intersect over the entire shank width of the iron core. The core parts may be formed from laminations of different magnetising losses.
