Abstract

1,096,527. Transformers, inductors. E. D. SHEINKMAN. July 30, 1965, No. 32633/65. Heading H1T. A toroidal magnetic core 1 is formed from wound steel tape which is welded, annealed, and impregnated with insulating adhesive compound, and has gaps 2 formed by providing two cuts in the core extending in different planes from opposite flat surfaces thereof. The two cuts are provided in parallel planes (Fig. 1) or intersecting planes, Fig. 3. The gaps 2 may be air gaps or they may comprise the impregnating compound.
