To ensure uniform abutment of two stacks of E- shaped laminations, cut from magnetic strip, and forming the magnetic core of a choke, notches 15, 16 are provided in the unworked edges 13, 14 such that the deepest points 17, 18 are at the same distance from the worked ends of the limbs, which touch in plane 10. The two stacks of laminations are urged together by pressure at the points 17, 18.
