Abstract
777,566. Supply system for space-discharge apparatus. LUMALAMPAN AKTIEBOLAG. Oct. 6, 1953 [Oct. 6, 1952], No. 27457/53. Class 38 (4). In a circuit arrangement for starting at least two electric discharge tubes 1, 4 having preheatable electrodes 2, 3, 5, 6 and being connected in series with each other across input terminals 11, 12 to be connected to an A.C. source, there is serially connected across the input terminals an inductance coil 8, one terminal electrode 6 of the series of tubes, a starter switch 10, and the other terminal electrode 2 of the series of tubes, and adjacent electrodes 3, 5 of adjacent tubes 1, 4 are connected in pairs in parallel for receiving heating current from a coil or coils of the inductance. As shown, each heating current is provided by a coil 7 but alternatively it may be taken-from tappings on the coil 8 which latter is iron-cored and may have another coil 9 oppositely wound and serially connected between the electrode 6 and switch 10 to increase the preheating current.
