Abstract
774,477. Supply systems for space discharge tubes. TOUVET, G. Jan. 12, 1951, No. 31710/55. Divided out of 774,471. Class 38 (4). In a circuit embodying a source of R.F. voltage applied to a luminescent discharge tube 1 in which the discharge passes between internal electrodes which are heated by the discharge without preheating, starting of the discharge when the tube is cold is facilitated by the provision of an anti-resonant circuit 18 shunted across the tube, the circuit 18 offering a high impedance at the frequency of the voltage source and being disconnected automatically as soon as the tube becomes operative. As shown, the circuit 18 is disconnected by the contacts of a relay 19 whose coil is energized by the lamp discharge current. Specification 774,475 is referred to.
