Abstract
766,451. Fluid-pressure servomotor control systems; valves. SAMSON APPARATEBAU AKT.-GES. March 19, 1954 [March 20, 1953], No. 8168/54. Addition to 733,574. Class 135. In a fluid-pressure relay consisting of a tiltable closure member 9 coacting with inlet and outlet nozzles 4, 5 in a chamber 2 and so arranged as normally to close both nozzles under pressure of a spring 14 but to tilt about either nozzle to open the' other, the member 9 is actuated by angular motion of a shaft 10 passing through a sleeve packing 12. The shaft 10 is operated electromagnetically or by a pressure or temperature sensitive element or by a float, the pressure in the chamber 2 being conveyed to a measuring instrument or pressure actuated valve &c. as in the parent Specification. As shown, the shaft 10 is coupled to the member 9 by a stirrup 17 and pin 16 perpendicular to the shaft 10. In a modification the coupling is by a flat spring bridging a pair of projections on the member 9 and fixed at its centre to the shaft. The parts of the member 9 coacting with the nozzles may be rubber-faced or ball-shaped.
