[Also in Group XIX] The differential pressure set up between the throat and the downstream portion of a venturi section of a conduit (see Fig. 3) is transmitted by perforations 11 and bore 13, and bore 14 (respectively) to ports 58 and 64 in a housing 26 (see Fig. 5) and through limp isolating diaphragms 57, 56 to the inside and outside respectively of bellows 25 the movable end of which carries a two-part stem 33, 34. The stem has a disc 35 and cap 38 screwed on to its outer end, the disc being attached to the housing by springs 36; movement of the bellows against the action of these springs is transmitted to the housing exterior as a measure of fluid flow by a rotatable tube 52 having an arm 49 which engages a trunnion 48 on the part 34. Damage to the bellows is prevented by valve closure rings 42 and 43 which engage seats 40, 41 to close the bellows interior when the differential pressure becomes excessive in either direction. In an alternative form the isolating diaphragms are contained in a separate housing. Specifications 652,880 and 724,299, [both in Group XIX], are referred to.
