699,446. Regulating fluid How. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Sept. 5, 1952 [Sept. 6, 1951] No. 22425/52. Class 135 A device for maintaining a substantially constant rate of flow of fluid over a range of pressures comprises a rubber &c. cylindrical member 9 secured by a flange 10 in a two-part housing 1, 5 and having a Venturi passage. An annular chamber 14 is open to the pressure at the inlet to the Venturi passage so that the intermediate part of the cylindrical member 9 between a metal ferrule 18 and the flange 10 contracts to throttle the passage in response to the difference between static and velocity heads of the fluid.
