Abstract
600,372. Fluid-actuated valves. BINKS, H., BROWN, C., and AMAL, Ltd. Sept. 28, 1945, No. 25221. [Class 135] A fluid control valve or gas governor having a weighted diaphragm 22, an inlet 4 and an outlet 5 is provided with a closure piston 20 which coacts with a circular port or throat 10 in a member 9, the diameter of the part 19 of the piston being slightly less than that of the port 10 to permit a slight flow of fluid through the port when the piston is in its position of maximum cut-off. The piston is supported by a member 26 secured by a nut 28 to the diaphragm and carrying a heavy nut 33, and is formed at its lower end with a guide stem 20a passing through a hole in the member 9. The diaphragm and the piston can be removed without disturbing the member 9.
