Abstract
590,947. Pressure-regulating valves. FRIEDMAN, L. Dec. 28, 1944, No. 25976. [Class 135] To give a steady and gradually increasing supply of gas to the burners of a gas-water heater the diaphragm actuated gas governor valve 9 is provided with a dashpot comprising an extension 11 of the valve slidable in a socket 12 in the valve casing having a small bleed hole 16 and a duct 14 controlled by a non-return valve 15, both of which communicate with the gas inlet 3. The opening of the valve is controlled by the slow expulsion of gas from the socket through the bleed hole, whilst rapid closing is effected by the admission of gas through the bleed hole and the duct.
