Abstract

756,913. Junction pieces; pipe joints. KROMSCHRODER AKT.-GES., G. Dec. 10, 1954 [Dec. 11, 1953], No. 35803/54. Class 99(1). A gas meter or other through-flow appliance 20 is connected to a pipe-line by the use of two adaptors, 1, 10, the adaptor 10 having a coupling part comprising side-by-side conduits 11, 12 separated by a partition 13 and respectively leading to conduits 16, 17 secured to spacedapart inlet and outlet connections 18, 19 of the meter, and the adaptor 1 having a coupling part 6 for connection to that of the adaptor 10 and also comprising side-by-side conduits separated by a partition 2, each conduit leading to branches 3, 4 of the adaptor communicating with the pipe-line. The coupling part of the adaptor 1 is provided with a collar or flange 7 which projects into the coupling part of the adaptor 10 to ensure alignment of the adaptors, the collar having recesses 8 for the reception of the partition 13 to prevent relative rotation between the adaptors. As shown, the adaptors are coupled together by a union nut 9 screwed onto the part 6, and a sealing ring 15 is provided with a bridge piece 14 for sealing between the partitions 2, 13. The conduits of the coupling parts are segmental in shape. Connection between the conduits 16, 17 and the meter 20 is by union nuts and sealing rings 26, 27, and the tube 24 leading to the meter mechanism fits into the inlet 18 of the meter with the interposition of a sealing ring 25. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the tube 24 fits directly into the conduit 16.
