Class 99(1) In an arrangement for connecting apparatus, e.g. a gas or water meter 8, having a double-connecting socket 7 to a pipeline 1, wherein the entry and exit ducts of that socket respectively communicate with the pipe-line and a consumer pipe 12, there is a distributing piece 3 which comprises a double-connecting socket 6 for the connection of the meter. two opposed branches 4, 5, for attachment of the distributing piece to the pipe-line, and a branch 11 for connection to the consumer pipe. As shown in Fig. 1 the cast distributing piece 3 has a centrallv disposed duct leading from the exit of the meter to the branch 11, and two meters are connected in parallel by a tubular union 2; alternatively, the use of the union is avoided by extending one of the branches. Fig. 2 (not shown). A pressure regulator, filter or gas-cock 8<SP>11</SP> may be interposed between the meter and the distributing piece. In a modification, the distributing piece comprises three doubleconnecting sockets 18, 19 and 20, Fig. 3, disposed in one plane, the branches 14. 15 for connection to the pipe-line and a branch 16 for 'the consumer pipe being arranged at right angles with each other and with the sockets.
