Abstract
756,500. Adaptors for pipe-lines. KROMSCHRODER AKT.-GES., G. May 7, 1954 [May 7, 1953], No. 13388/54. Class 99(1). An adaptor 36 for connecting appliances such as a gas meter 26 and a pressure regulator 33 to a pipe-line comprises at least two sets of coaxial conduits 43, 44<SP>1</SP> and 44, 45 adapted for connection to similarly arranged conduits 34, 35 and 29, 28 respectively provided on the meter and regulator, the gas flowing from the pipeline into the adaptor and through the regulator, back into the adaptor and through the meter, and, finally, from the latter into the continuation of the pipeline. As shown, the conduits 43, 45 communicate with pipe coupling parts 47, 48 of the adaptor, a shut-off valve 37 being disposed in the conduit 43. Provision for the connection of a measuring or testing device is made by tappings 57, 58 in the walls of the adaptor. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), pairs of co-axial conduits for connection to a water meter and a shut-off valve are arranged side-by-side. The adaptor may also be used for the connection to the pipeline of pumps or blowers.
