819,442. Pipe couplings. COMPAGNIE POUR LA FABRICATION DES COMPTEURS ET MATERIEL D'USINES A GAZ. Oct. 11, 1957 [June 11, 1957], No. 31877/57. Class 99(1). [Also in Group XXIX] A coupling for a gas meter comprises a connection piece 15, fixed to the meter and provided with a first conduit 20 coaxial with the axis of the coupling and a second conduit 21 to one side of conduit 20, and a coupling member 12 for connection in the supply pipe having a first conduit 17 coaxial with conduit 20 and a second conduit the inner end of which is divided into two branches 18, 18<SP>1</SP>, one each side of the conduit 17, adapted to register with the conduit 21 in either of two positions of the member 12 180 degrees apart. The parts 12, 15, are coupled together by a screwed sleeve 16, a gasket therebetween being formed in three separate parts 19<SP>1</SP>, 19<SP>2</SP>, 19<SP>3</SP>, maintained in position by upstanding ribs 13, 13<SP>1</SP>, on the member 10. The member 12 is T-shaped and permits connection inlet and outlet pipes on the left and right of the meter respectively as shown or vice versa.
