Abstract

748,892. Photographic development transfer method. OZALID CO., Ltd., and SMITH, G. W. March 15, 1954 [March 25, 1953; March 5, 1954], Nos. 8272/53 and 6556/54. Class 98 (2). To avoid undesired adherence between the exposed silver halide emulsion material and the transfer material in processing by the silversalt transfer method the binding medium in both materials comprises starch or starch with a smaller proportion of gelatine. Silver chloride may be used in the emulsion, and the transfer material may comprise, in addition to precipitation nuclei, a silver halide solvent, a developer, and mercaptobenzthiazole. In two examples the negative materials having silver halide carried by a binding medium comprising starch on a paper base, together with transfer materials consisting of sized paper coated with a solution containing maize starch, copper sulphide nuclei as described in Specification 715,196, hypo, hydroquinone, saponin and glycerine, are bodily immersed in alkaline sodium sulphite solution, passed face to face together through a pair of nipping rollers and separated after contact up to four minutes to show positive images on the tiansfer materials, no sticking being experienced in separation.
