Abstract
950,960. Photographic diffusion-transfer procedure. GEVAERT PHOTO-PRODUCTEN N. V. Sept. 23,1960 [Sept. 24, 1959], No. 32863/60. Heading G2C. A print or receiving material, a number of which may be used for making successive copies from the same exposed silver halide emulsion layer, comprises a layer containing nuclei or nuclei-forming substance and at least one watersoluble basic polymer having in the side chain a heterocyclic group containing a quaternary nitrogen atom. In Example 1 paper is coated with a suspersion containing gelatin, colloidal zinc sulphide, hypo, phenyl mercapto tetrazole and poly- (1-vinyl-3-methyl imidazolium methyl sulphate) and overcoated with carboxymethylcellulose to form the receiving material, and up to 10 sharp prints may be made by pressing such on to an exposed negative material comprising a chloride emulsion containing urea as softener and corn starch, and which also is overcoated with carboxymethylcellulose in the presence of a specified pyrazolidone type developer. Succeeding examples use (2) poly-(1-methyl-4-vinyl-pyridinium methyl sulphate), (3) poly-(1-methyl-2-vinyl pyridinium iodide) and (4) poly-(1-methyl-4-vinyl pyridinium iodide as the polymer, and a few others for the purpose are referred to.
