Abstract

715,543. Tipping apparatus. BARKER & SON ENGINEERS, Ltd., W. H. April 17, 1953 [April 29, 1952]. No. 10727/52. Class 78 (4) A pit head system for moving trucks from and to double deck cages comprises a pair of tipplers arranged in a plane situated about midway between the deck levels of the cages at the pit mouth and means for moving the trucks from and to the cages and through the tipplers. Empty trucks on transversers c are pushed by a pair of superposed rams b into a double-deck cage d at the pit mouth a. The loaded trucks g, h in the cage are pushed along rails e, f, to two laterally separated positions at different levels as shown in Fig. 2. A traverser i operated by a ram m moves the truck g upwardly into line with a rotary tippler o and a traverser j and ram m moves the truck b downwardly to the tippler p. Pushers q transfer the trucks into the tipplers after discharging the trucks on to a conveyer r, the next loaded trucks enter. the tipplers and displace the empty trucks g and k. The truck g is transferred to a hoist s which lowers the truck to the level of rails t leading to the transverser c. The truck h is transferred to a hoist u which raises the truck to rails v leading to the other transverser c.
