Abstract
1,201,807. Refrigerators. KUHLAUTOMAT VEB. 1 Dec., 1967, No. 54731/67. Heading F4H. Food to be frozen is packed into container<SP>S</SP> which are automatically fed to at least one plate freezer, the frozen food being disengaged from the containers after removal from the freezer and the containers returned for re-packing. As shown in plan, the containers are filled at location 1 and transferred along a roll-way 8 by an endless chain 12 carrying a pusher 13 to an elevator 3. The latter includes a multi-platform cage which is raised or lowered step by step and when the cage is full an ejector 4 transfers the containers to a trolley 6 which runs on rails 21 to a position adjacent the plate freezer(s) 28. The trolley carries ejector mechanism for simultaneously charging the containers into the freezer, the containers already in the freezer being pushed out into a trolley 35 which conveys them to an elevator 37. The latter includes a cage as in elevator 3 and the containers are ejected individually therefrom to a device 39 in which the containers are rotated through 180 degrees and the frozen blocks fall on to a conveyer 45. The empty containers are returned to location 1.
