Abstract

1,007,454. Discharging boxes from a rollerway; stacking articles on pallets &c. H. GRASVOLL, G. G. MAGNUSSON, and K. I. WEINER. April 30, 1962 [June 6, 1961], No. 16449/62. Headings B8A and B8C. A box 18 conveyed to a discharge point on rollers 17 driven by belt 19, is discharged therefrom to the left by pushers 27 on to rails 15. Pushers 27 are pivotally carried by lever 22 which is oscillated about point 21 by fluid cylinder 25. The box is thus received by stationary rails 15 and is discharged therefrom on to load carrier 34 by the arms 8 of a carrier 7. Carrier 7 is slidable in the vertical direction upon frame 6 which is carried by carriage 3 movable in the horizontal direction by cylinder 10. Carrier 7 therefore under the influence of cylinders 10 and 12 performs an upward movement followed by a leftward movement so that it lifts the box off rails 15 and carries them forwards and downwards to drop them on to load carrier 34, the carrier 7 at the end of the cycle moving rightwards through strippers 16 which serve to retain the box 18 whilst permitting the carrier 7 to return to its point of start. When the load carrier 34 has been fully laden with boxes 18 a pusher 41 operates to push into place a new and empty load carrier 34 thus displacing the loaded carrier 34 for further use. Carrier 7 carries pivoted drivers 50 which aid the carrier to move a box 18 leftwards.
