Abstract

964,411. Stacking-machines. J. P. LISSIMORE. Jan. 27, 1961 [Oct. 27, 1959], No. 36425/59. Addition to 862,012. Heading B8C. The invention described in the parent Specification is modified in that an ejector 48, movable with the main carriage, holds a crate or group of crates against a barrier formed of pairs of brackets, Fig. 7 (not shown), while the platform 26 of a secondary carriage 25 is retracted. Crates delivered by gravity on a roller conveyer 75 are moved into an entry station 74 by means of a pneumatically-operated carriage 78. A pusher 67 transfers the crates on to a table 66 rotated between successive deliveries. A transfer bar 100 pushes the layer, when formed, on to the platform 26. The main carriage formed by girders 21 is raised, after which the carriage 25 is traversed on the members 21 to a position above a palletloading platform 18. The ejector 48 operates to hold the crates as the carriage 25 withdraws and the main carriage is again lowered. When the stack is completed the platform 18 is moved along rails 108 to a dispatch station 109. The platform 18 being a section of roller conveyer 106, the loaded pallet travels on under its own momentum at station 109 and is engaged by driven belts 117 for discharge by a conveyer 120. A new pallet is then ejected from a magazine 110 on to the platform 18 which returns to its loading position.
