Abstract

872,479. Drying apparatus. KELLER, E., and KELLER, W., [trading as KELLER & CO., C.]. Sept. 18, 1958 [Sept. 19, 1957], No. 29917/58. Class 34(2) Racks 2 supporting mould carriers 3 containing wet ceramic ware are mechanically stacked in superposed relation on bars 10 in a drying chamber by conveyer means. The chamber is charged by singly feeding the racks and laden carriers from a roller conveyer 1 to a vertical conveyer 5 by a conveyer 4. The conveyer 5 feeds a conveyer 6 connected to a conveyer 7 extending within the chamber until the uppermost bars supporting a full load of racks &c. when the conveyers descend so that the bars immediately beneath may be loaded in a similar manner. When the chamber is full the conveyers 6, 7, remain adjacent the chamber floor whilst drying proceeds. Chamber discharge is effected by the conveyers 4, 7, commencing from the bottom and moving upwards the dried ware being received by a roller conveyer 9 for transportation to a furnace.
