Abstract

1497435 Transferring fragile articles CEBAL 26 Feb 1975 [28 Feb 1974] 8010/75 Heading B8A Articles, such as fragile hollow containers 13 of aluminium foil, are fed by a conveyer 5 to rows of rollers 2, the leading container 13 engaging a fixed stop 12 at a transfer zone 6 and actuating a feeler 15 which triggers a first mechanism including a platform 18 which is moved vertically through a cradle 17 on a conveyer chain 16 to lift the container 13 from the rollers 2 where it is suspended from its edges. The feeler 15 also triggers second and third mechanisms actuated through jacks 8 to increase the distance between the rows of rollers 2 so that the platform 18 may descend to deposit the container 13 in the cradle 17, the jack 8 also acting on a lever 10 which move stop rods 11 into the path of the following containers. The conveyer chain 16 may then advance the distance between the cradles 17.
