712,647. Downdraught diverters. MAIN WATER HEATERS, Ltd. March 5, 1953 [Jan. 28, 1952], No. 2333/52. Class 25. [Also in Group XIII] A downdraught diverter 14 located above a flue 13 in a gas-fired hot-water storage heater 11 (see Group XIII), comprises a rectangular box open at the front and provided with a flanged opening 28 in the top for connection to a flue pipe. The diverter includes a baffle 29 and a doublewalled hood 15 which projects through an opening in a removable front wall 16 of the heater, the space between the walls of the hood forming a return passage for gases ejected at low-speed below the hood.
