Abstract

810,584. Hot-water boilers; sectional boilers. DANIAULT, M. M. E. Oct. 31, 1955 [April 9, 1955], No 31082/55. Classes 64(1) and 123(2) A hot-water or low-pressure steam boiler comprises three easily separable main parts, viz. a firebox 1, a fuel charging hopper 2 and a heat exchanger 3, of which the second and third are assembled in face to face contact with the first to form together a compact unit. The firebox 1 has waterjacketed walls 7, 8, 9. The heat-exchanger 3 has two sets of flue tubes 14, 15 through which the hot gases flow in two passes to a smoke-box 18 connected by an opening at one end of a double-walled partition 36 to a smoke-box 18, leading to a chimney. The water space of the heat exchanger is connected at the top and bottom to the water spaces of the firebox. The water space of the firebox has an extension 12 projecting into the flue space 10 above the tubes 14 in the heat exchanger. Tubes 20, normally closed by a plug 21, are provided in this extension to enable the tubes 14, as well as the tubes 15 to be cleaned from above when an insulated cover 19 is removed. In the case of steam operation, a steam chamber 22 with outlet 23 is provided at the back of the boiler, and a steam outlet 37 is provided at the top of the steam space 11 in the firebox unit.
