Abstract

618,110. Hot-water boilers. OHLSSON, O. Oct. 21, 1946. No. 31213. [Class 64(i)] In a hot-water boiler having an outlet flue 4 surrounded by a water-jacket 6 to which are connected water-tubes 5 arranged in the flue, the tubes or groups of tubes are arranged one behind another in the direction of gas flow to form straight passages which extend past the tubes or groups of tubes and are wide enough for easy access for cleaning and inspection from a filling, stoking or ash-pit opening opposite the flue.. The tubes may be straight, and arranged diametrically as shown in Fig. 1 or radially between the jacket 6 and a coaxial tube. Alternatively, the tubes may be arcuate and arranged, e.g. as in Fig. 4, to leave a central free space 7b as well as free spaces 7a. The boiler may operate under up or down draught, and be fired by solid or gaseous fuel.
