Class 64(1) A hot-water boiler comprises a horizontal cylindrical shell 1 having a cylindrical chest 8 inserted in its rear wall 3 and a horizontal flue 10 extending from its front wall 2 into the front wall of the chest 8, the axis of the flue 10 lying above the axis of the shell 1, and fire-tubes 11 below the flue 10 in the space between the latter and the shell and set at their ends in the front wall of the chest and in a wall 12 lying parallel with the front wall of the shell. The front and rear walls 2, 3 of the shell extend downwards, beyond the cylindrical wall of the shell to form, together with the side and bottom plates connecting them, a passage 6 for the gases leaving the fire-tubes 11.
