Abstract

570,705. Steam boilers. MARSHALL, SONS & CO., Ltd., and BURGESS, E. Nov. 17, 1943, No. 19168. [Class 123 (ii)] A vertical smoke-tube boiler is constructed of a pair of flanged end plates 1 and a cover plate 2 which extends between said end plates and is dished at the bottom to provide a rounded portion 5 constituting the top of the furnace chamber 6, the latter extending from the front of the boiler to a combustion chamber at the rear thereof. The boiler is square, or rectangular in plan, and the top of the cover plate is domed and the tubes 3 disposed more or less horizontally between the said combustion chamber and a smoke box at the front.
