Vertical boilers.-To the shell 4 of uniform diameter is secured the tube plate 1 at a distance below the crown plate 5 to form the combustion chamber. An external annular casing 7 attached to the shell around the combustion chamber communicates with the water space of the boiler by means of apertures 9 formed in the shell.
