[Class 123(ii)] In a horizontal cylindrical dryback boiler of the double return-tube type, the combustion chamber e is. directly attached to the back end plate c of the boiler in such a manner that part of it is located within the boiler shell a, the outwardly-extending part thereof being composed of or lined with heat insulating material as shown. The tubes f of the first pass are jointed to the front of the combustion chamber, which latter may be of cylindrical, hemispherical, &c., shape.
