Abstract

715,654. Radiators for heating buildings. WALL'S Ltd. March 26, 1953 [March 26, 1952], No. 7706/52. Class 64(2) [Also in Group XI] A space - heating radiator, for conveying to a chimney combustion gases s from a domestic firegrate which stands clear of the wall, comprises a tube in zig - zag formation with open ends 4 at the junctions of the tube sections 3 covered by closures 6 which are removable for cleaning the radiator interior. The closures are secured on threaded studs 5. The hot gases flow from the fireplace down a flue behind the fireback of the grate to a bottom inlet 11 and pass up to an outlet 12 to the chimney, which outlet communicates also with a valved by-pass leading from the top of that flue. The radiator may thereby be by-passed when the fire is lit. The Provisional Specification describes also a bridge piece for supporting the studs 5.
