707,547. Internal shoe drum brakes. TEVES, A., TEVES, H., and TEVES, E. A., [trading as TEVES MASCHINEN UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMMANDIT-GES., A.]. Dec. 21, 1950 [Dec. 21, 1949], No. 31126/50. Class 103(1) In an internal shoe drum brake of the type in which the drum, when rotating in its normal direction, as indicated by the arrow, acts upon a leading shoe 3, the force on which is transmitted through a transmission member or lever 7 pivoted on the brake anchor plate to a trailing or secondary shoe 4, a fixed centring stop 8 is provided against which the lever 7 and shoe 4 abuts when the drum rotation is reversed. As shown the shoes 3 and 4 abut against the lever 7 at different radial distances from the pivot 6 so as to effect a decrease in the servo-force transmitted from the leading shoe, but in another embodiment described these distances are made equal.
