697,630. Agricultural implements. WYNESS, S. Dec. 17, 1951 [Dec. 15, 1950], No. 30625/50. Class 6(i) A safety release device for implements connected to power lift mechanism on a tractor comprises a slidably guided detent 15 resiliently pressed by one or more springs 18 against an end surface 9a of an abutment 9 projecting from a tool carrying member 7. The detent and abutment are movable between guide plates 10 :secured to the implement frame 4, the detent permitting the member 7 to rise and thereafter holding the member in raised position until the member is free to descend by its own weight or until the power lift mechanism is operated to lift the implement frame. As shown the detent comprises a block guided between the plates 10 and by means of a pin and slot means 16, the detent being pressed towards the end face of the abutment by means of compression springs 18 mounted on the two legs of a U-bolt 19 which is passed through slots in the guide plates and through the detent.
