694,335. Force-measurirsg devices. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., DEWAR, G., and BENBOW, C. H. Oct. 26,1951 [Jan. 1, 1951], No. 30/51. Class 106 (ii). In a device for measuring mechanical forces, as disclosed in Specification 323,282, [Class 106 (ii)], including a member 3 engaging V-grooves in the head of a frame 5, the frame is made by pressure die-casting, e.g. using a zinc base alloy, and the head has a plurality of pairs of V- grooves, such as 10, 11, for measuring different ranges of force. Also, the side movement of the link 8 connecting the knife edge assembly 3 to the controlling spring 9 may be limited by a U- member 4 engaging grooves in the frame head on either side of the central slot 6.
