Abstract

647,571. Agricultural machines. HUMBERSIDE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS CO., Ltd. June 2, 1948, No. 14915. [Class 6(i)] A lever system for controlling the movement of assemblies of ground working tools or seeders with respect to the vehicle on which they are mounted has a rocking operating member 21 which is linked to the tools, or seeders. and also to a transverse member 18 which by engaging beneath a part of the assembly holds up any parts which tend to sag when the parts are lifted into the inoperative position. In the construction shown the member 21 is secured to the centre of a long transverse shaft 22 which carries a pair of links 24 which are linked at 15 to a long transverse bar 14. This bar extends between arms 12 at either end of a long transverse shaft 8, and to the bar are connected several arms 11 corresponding one to each of a number of seeders. The arm 11 and a further arm 9 are mounted on shaft 8 and are connected to the seeder as in Specification 644,627. The shaft 22 also carries a pair of arms 25 suitably linked at 19 to arms 16 on the shaft 8, and it is these arms 16 which carry the transverse sag-preventing member 18. This member 18 engages beneath the several arms 9 when the member 21 is moved to raise the seeders. An over-centre spring device may be provided as shown.
